FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
I have been
awarded a grant of $1350.00 from the State of Michigan Council for Arts and
Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The grant was awarded through the MCACA peer review
process and was one of 233 applications to compete for MCACA fiscal year 2014
funding.
The MCACA mini-grant funds an exciting continuing education event!
I will be able to attend “Tangle University 2014” in Portland, Maine, April 25-27, along
with other Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZT). The Arts Council of Greater Lansing funded a Chris
Clark Fellowship in 2012 so that I could attend a Certified Zentangle Teacher
training seminar. “Tangle University 2014” is a
professional development situation that is restricted to CZT’s only. I believe that this experience will
make me a better teacher, along with providing many networking opportunities and much creative
stimulation. Find out more at my blog,
tanglewrangler.wordpress.com or on Facebook, “Jane Reiter, Artist.”
The MCACA peer review
process allows for each grant application to be competitively considered by a panel
of in-state and out-of-state arts and culture professionals. This ensures the
taxpayers, who support this project through legislative appropriations, and all
other visitors or residents in Michigan will have access to the highest quality
arts and cultural experiences.
A complete list of grant
awards around the state is available by contacting MCACA at 517.241.4011, or on
the website at www.michiganadvantage.org/arts.
