Fantastic Fiber Fun!

I am having fun this week with East Lansing's "Creative Art Camp" (http://www.cityofeastlansing.com/) with eight enthusiastic students! Yesterday we explored knitting without needles on circular looms. Today we delved into weaving--the students created weavings on a cardboard base. Lots of experimentation with color and texture--WOW! We are also learning about crochet and hand stitching this week!

Prayer Flags Class at SmittenDust Studio

On June 15th I enjoyed a wonderful class in Dimondale with Shirley Bentsen who taught us how to make prayer flags. She inspired us with creativity, color, texture and FUN! I thoroughly enjoyed using repurposed materials in a thoughtful, mindful way. I like sending out happy and healthy thoughts into the world. Thanks Shirley!

Drawstring VHS Knit Bag Saturday, June 29th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm Fee: $55.00 Join me to create a bag knitted from old videotapes in this class! This session is the premier of my new patterns using repurposed materials! Recycle and reuse videotape along with "magic ball" yarn created from scraps and leftovers. Topics covered include: how to knit with magic ball yarn & VHS tape and how to make an I-cord handle strap. You will receive one kit, color of your choice, with pattern, magic ball yarn and VHS tape. All skill levels are welcome... you just have to know how to knit. Supplies: Please bring US#11 bamboo circular needle, 24" and US#11 bamboo double pointed needles.
